Jakarta, March 10 -- Under President Prabowo Subianto's leadership, the Indonesian government is prioritizing waste management to achieve full coverage by 2029.

"The president has given us a target for waste management to reach 100 percent in 2029," Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated during a press conference at the Office of the Ministry of Environment in Jakarta on Monday.

The target has been included in the government's new National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

One of the efforts to achieve the new target is to end open dumping practices in landfills.
