Jakarta, April 29 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Health is reforming the country's specialist doctor education system by adopting international standards from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), aiming to improve quality and accelerate the production of specialist doctors.

During a hearing with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Tuesday, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the new system has been implemented in the first phase through six main teaching hospitals that manage specialist medical education programs (PPDS).
