Jakarta, Oct. 24 -- The governments of Indonesia and the United Kingdom have committed to strengthening bilateral economic ties through the establishment of the Indonesia-UK Economic Growth Partnership (EGP).

The EGP is designed as a new cooperation framework intended to drive growth and collaboration across several strategic sectors.

"The two countries need to formulate the strategic values of EGP to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation," stated Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in a statement on Friday.

The commitment arose from a meeting between Minister Hartarto and the UK Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, Dominic Jermey, in Jakarta on Thursday.
