Jakarta, May 19 -- President Prabowo Subianto and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra discussed the humanitarian crisis triggered by the civil war between the military and several armed groups in Myanmar since the military coup in 2021.

While issuing a joint statement with PM Shinawatra, Prabowo conveyed the two countries' stance on promoting peace in Myanmar.

"Indonesia appreciates Thailand's constructive role, especially in involving neighboring countries to find a peaceful solution in Myanmar and facilitating dialogue between all parties," he said at Government House, Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday.

He then emphasized Indonesia's support for inclusive dialogues to accelerate the achievement of peace and stability in Myanmar.
