Jakarta, April 10 -- The governments of Indonesia and Switzerland explored the possibility of forging a pact for the transfer of prisoners, with mutual respect for judicial authority over convicts incarcerated in each other's territories.
Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra highlighted that Indonesia has established similar agreements with multiple countries, including the Philippines and France.
"We are also in constant (diplomatic) communication to handle Indonesian citizens who have been sentenced to death abroad," he remarked while hosting Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia Olivier Zehnder in Jakarta on Wednesday (April 9).
