Jakarta, July 16 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the South Korean government are seeking to strengthen military cooperation, particularly in maritime defense.

This initiative was discussed during a courtesy visit by Park Soo-Deok, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the South Korean Embassy in Indonesia, to the ministry's office in Jakarta on Tuesday. He was received by Lieutenant General Tri Budi Utomo, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense.

Head of the ministry's information bureau, Brigadier General Frega Ferdinand Wenas, confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday that several areas of cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
