Jakarta, Oct. 22 -- Indonesia is considering establishing a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) or a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with South Africa to enhance trade under more balanced conditions, President Prabowo Subianto said.

"We are exploring steps toward establishing a PTA or a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement," Prabowo stated during a joint press conference with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at Merdeka Palace on Wednesday.

He noted that trade between the two countries has grown significantly over the past five years. Amid global economic uncertainty, Prabowo underscored the importance of strengthening and expanding cooperation based on mutual benefit.
