Belem, Nov. 13 -- Indonesia's Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq held a bilateral meeting with Norway's Minister of Climate and Environment, Andreas Bjelland Eriksen, to discuss efforts to improve plastic waste management.

"We discussed Indonesia's readiness to take the lead in tackling plastic pollution," Nurofiq said on the sidelines of the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belem, Brazil, on Wednesday.

He underlined that the Indonesian government remains strongly committed to addressing the issue of plastic waste across the country.

"Indonesia is determined to gradually reduce plastic pollution. As a large nation, we naturally generate a significant amount of waste," he explained.
