Jakarta, Feb. 5 -- The governments of Indonesia and Jordan have agreed to step up their bilateral relations by establishing a partnership to ensure the halal aspect of products.
The cooperation was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) in Jakarta on Wednesday (Feb. 4).
In a statement cited on Thursday, BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan noted that the MoU signing marks a strategic step for both countries in strengthening the global halal network, which he believes will advance Indonesia's determination to become the world's halal reference.
