Jakarta, June 4 -- The Indonesian government is committed to strengthening social security for workers, particularly in the digital sector.
This initiative was discussed in a meeting between Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower and the International Social Security Association (ISSA), held on the sidelines of the 113th International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday.
Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan and ISSA Secretary General Marcelo Abi-Ramia Caetano described the meeting as a strategic step toward expanding social protection for digital platform workers, who play an increasingly vital role in Indonesia's economy.
