Jakarta, Nov. 25 -- Indonesia's Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) Chief Admiral Irvansyah signed a maritime security cooperation agreement with the Hellenic Coast Guard (HCG) during a meeting in Piraeus, Greece, on Monday, November 24.
The agreement formalizes a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on maritime security and safety, building on a 2018 Letter of Intent signed by both agencies.
Admiral Irvansyah met HCG Commandant Vice Admiral Tryfon Kontizas at HCG headquarters to discuss joint maritime initiatives and security collaboration.
"The MoU is a continuation of the 2018 LoI," Irvansyah said in a statement released Tuesday in Jakarta.
