Jakarta, May 25 -- Indonesia and China have formally agreed to strengthen cooperation in the tourism sector, as outlined in a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at significantly increasing tourist visits between the two countries.
"This MoU will open more opportunities for us to introduce our tourist destinations to the vast Chinese market, and vice versa," Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said in a statement on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
The MoU signing was a key event during Chinese Premier Li Qiang's working visit to Indonesia, which spanned from Saturday, May 24, to Monday, May 26.
