Belem, Nov. 14 -- The governments of Indonesia and Canada have agreed to strengthen cooperation in carbon trading and biodiversity.

"The Canadian Minister of Environment and Climate Change stated that she wants to collaborate to strengthen carbon-free policies. Therefore, Indonesia is considered a leader by our European partners," said the Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq in Belem, Brazil, on Thursday (Nov 13).

He conveyed that after a bilateral meeting with the Canadian Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Julie Dabrusin, on the sidelines of the 30 th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30).

Regarding carbon trading, Canada invited Indonesia to establish its own carbon unit scheme.
