Jakarta, Oct. 23 -- Indonesia and Brazil signed eight memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in Jakarta on Thursday, witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and visiting President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Indonesia's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia initiated the signing of an MoU on energy and mining cooperation with representatives from Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy.
In a press statement, the minister said both countries will partner in the new and renewable energy sector, noting that Brazil has successfully implemented mandatory bioethanol programs.
"The E30 is now mandatory in Brazil, along with E100 in several states. We will establish collaboration in that sector," Lahadalia said.
