Jakarta, March 13 -- Indonesia and Australia have pledged to strengthen their partnership with ASEAN by developing effective rehabilitation and reintegration programs, including for foreign terrorist fighters (FTFs) and their families.
The commitment was shared during the "ASEAN-Australia Counter-Terrorism Workshop on Good Practice Approaches for the Rehabilitation and Reintegration of FTF and their Families" held on March 7, 2025.
On that occasion, deputy for international cooperation at the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT), Andhika Chrisnayudhanto, said that this commitment is part of efforts to develop strategies to prevent violence-based extremism and terrorism.
