Jakarta, Feb. 6 -- The Indonesian Government and the Australian Government have strengthened their partnership by signing a joint security treaty at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
"Today, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and I reaffirmed our close ties and shared commitment to strengthening the Indonesia-Australia partnership through the signing of a joint security treaty," Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said.
He said the agreement reflects both countries' determination to work closely together to safeguard their respective national security while making a tangible contribution to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
