Jakarta, Feb. 20 -- President Prabowo Subianto highlighted that the mass swearing-in ceremony involving 961 elected regional leaders on Thursday is a historical moment for Indonesia.

"For the first time in our country, we inaugurate 33 governors, 33 deputy governors, 363 district heads, 362 deputy district heads, 85 mayors, and 85 deputy mayors, with a total of 961 regional leaders," Prabowo noted in his speech during the ceremony at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta.

Prabowo highlighted that Thursday's inauguration was the first time a president had inaugurated hundreds of regional leaders simultaneously.

In his speech, President Prabowo congratulated all elected regional heads and deputy regional heads.
