Penajam Paser Utara, Nov. 2 -- Indonesia's Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) is involving local residents in the development of the new capital in parts of Penajam Paser Utara and Kutai Kartanegara in East Kalimantan, aiming to build a skilled, competitive workforce alongside infrastructure.
"Development is not just about infrastructure but also about nurturing high-quality human resources," Alimuddin, OIKN deputy for social, cultural, and community empowerment, said Sunday in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara.
OIKN plans to make local residents a central part of the capital's growth, targeting at least 30 percent of employees in partner companies operating in the new capital to come from the surrounding communities.
