Jakarta, Aug. 31 -- The Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) called on all elements of the nation to prioritize dialogue, avoid violence, and maintain unity amidst rising political tensions and waves of demonstrations recently marked by anarchic actions.
"ICMI urges the public not to be provoked by groups seeking to exploit the demonstrations for political gain and to divide the nation," said ICMI Chairman Arif Satria in a statement received here on Sunday.
Satria stressed that diversity and brotherhood among citizens are the nation's greatest assets and must be preserved.
