Jakarta, Aug. 17 -- Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that Indonesia is ready to achieve food self-sufficiency this year, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the country's independence.
"On this Independence Day, we should use this momentum to make a leap in all commodities, especially food. God willing, this year we can achieve food self-sufficiency," he stated at the Independence Day ceremony here Sunday.
According to him, this target is made possible by the support of President Prabowo Subianto, and the hard work of all ranks within the ministry and farmers in the field.
