Jakarta, Nov. 25 -- Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Puan Maharani underscored the need for clear guidelines to address school bullying amid a rising number of cases across Indonesia.
She said the series of bullying incidents in schools should serve as a national warning, as the trend has become increasingly alarming. Comprehensive efforts, she added, are needed to prevent further cases and protect students.
"This is a national alarm that violence in school environments has reached a fatal level, no longer limited to problematic student behavior," she said here on Tuesday.
Maharani noted that bullying cases are increasing, with some resulting in serious injuries, psychological trauma and even death.
