Wamena, Nov. 6 -- The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has urged residents in eight districts of Highland Papua Province to be vigilant against extreme weather.
Acting Head of the Wamena Class III Meteorological Station of the BMKG, Laura SM Runggeari, said here on Thursday that based on current weather forecasts, the Highland Papua region and its surroundings have just entered the transition phase from the dry season to the rainy season.
Therefore, residents are advised to increase their vigilance.
"Currently, Jayawijaya District and seven other districts in Highland Papua are just entering the transition season from dry to rainy, and the peak, according to weather forecasts, will occur in January 2026," she said....
