Jakarta, Feb. 19 -- Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro announced his resignation from his current post on Wednesday.

"I went to the State Secretariat Ministry to submit my resignation letter as Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology," Brodjonegoro stated when met by reporters at his office on Wednesday.

He resigned, citing underperformance during his four months while serving in the Red and White Cabinet.

"It may not be in accordance with the government's expectations. I would rather resign than be dismissed," he remarked.

Brodjonegoro said he had written the letter on Tuesday night to be submitted to the Ministry of State Secretariat and President Prabowo Subianto.
