Jakarta, Oct. 21 -- Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) stressed that debt issues in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail (HSR) must not impede the system expansion to Surabaya in East Java.

"We do need to address the debt issues. However, it must not impede our greater plan to expand connectivity from Jakarta to Surabaya," AHY stated at the Presidential Palace complex here on Monday evening (October 20).

The top minister confirmed that the discussion between government stakeholders to settle the Jakarta-Bandung HSR project debt is ongoing.
