Jakarta, June 13 -- The Health Ministry has reported that 50 percent of women and 25 percent of men in Indonesia have central or abdominal obesity, which puts them at increased risk of catastrophic illnesses such as heart disease and stroke.

Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, said here on Friday that more than 8.2 million people have participated in the Free Health Check-up (CKG) program since its launch in February 2025, with women making up 62.2 percent of the participants and men 37.7 percent.
