Jakarta, July 1 -- Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) underscored the importance of halal standards for foods distributed under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program to ensure quality.

"Halal certification serves as an essential element in guaranteeing that the meals provided are safe, healthy, and nutritious for the public," he remarked.

In a statement received from the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) in Jakarta on Tuesday, AHY emphasized that ensuring the quality of MBG menus is key to helping Indonesian children grow into smart, healthy, and competitive individuals in the future.
