Jakarta, Sept. 4 -- Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) said halal certification enhances product value and protects consumers as the government continues to push for broader awareness among business owners.
"Halal certification not only provides added economic value for producers and marketers but also ensures consumer protection," BPJPH Deputy Head Afriansyah Noor said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said the certification functions as both a legal requirement and a branding tool that increases product competitiveness.
Afriansyah emphasized that halal certification is mandated by Law No. 33 of 2014 and is compulsory for all businesses distributing products in Indonesia.
