Jakarta, Aug. 13 -- The central government has advised public officials against acting arrogantly, particularly when crafting and communicating policies, to avoid public anger, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said here on Wednesday.
Hadi made the statement in reference to Pati district head, Sudewo, who was accused of arrogance, particularly in his handling of a people's protest against a 250-percent hike in local land and building taxes.
Although Sudewo has withdrawn the policy amid strong public protest, many people in Pati are still demanding that the district head resign from office.
