Jakarta, Nov. 18 -- The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions is urging young people in rural areas to take on broader roles in local development by becoming digital content creators who promote their communities and help drive economic growth.

"We hope village youth don't just scroll through TikTok, Instagram or Facebook. If they have creativity and ideas, let's encourage them to become YouTubers," said Teguh Hadi Sulistiono, the ministry's director for Infrastructure and Facilities Harmonization, on Tuesday.
