Jakarta, Jan. 23 -- The Indonesian government has urged provincial, city, and district governments currently in heavy rain alert and warning zones to activate disaster standby posts and emergency command systems for potential hydrometeorological disasters.

"The early warning document from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) must be a direct reference for regional leaders and all authorities in regions in activating preparedness systems," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno said in Jakarta on Friday.

The BMKG has issued the Indonesian Weather Early Warning and a one-week outlook for the period of January 23-29, 2026.
