Jakarta, Sept. 10 -- Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria urged digital platforms to provide special features to detect AI-generated content to help the public combat hoaxes and deepfakes.
"We hope that global social media platforms can also filter, or at least provide a feature to check whether a piece of content is made by AI or not. This feature should be free to use for the public," he said in a statement here on Wednesday.
According to him, deepfakes have become more concerning with data from Sensity AI showing a 550 percent increase in deepfake content in the last five years.
