Jakarta, June 26 -- The Indonesian government is currently seeking to accelerate the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, whose beneficiaries have so far reached 5,560,648.

"The number of beneficiaries has reached 5,560,648 and only Rp5 trillion (USD1 = around Rp16,191) of the budget has been utilized as of June (2025)," Coordinating Minister for Food, Zulkifli Hasan, said during a meeting on the acceleration of the program here on Thursday.

He informed that his ministry is currently discussing measures to expedite free meals distribution with other ministries and agencies, considering that President Prabowo Subianto wants the program to be accelerated and expanded.
