Karawang, Jawa Barat, March 4 -- Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait, has said that he will not hesitate to blacklist subsidized housing developers who sell poor-quality homes to the public.

"We will not hesitate to create a blacklist because we want to protect the people," he said after attending the groundbreaking ceremony for housing for Indonesian National Police personnel in Karawang, West Java, on Tuesday.

Minister Sirait emphasized that his ministry does not wish to allow irresponsible developers the opportunity to participate in subsidized housing projects. Therefore, the blacklist will be used as a guide for the public and policymakers to be more cautious in selecting developers.
