Padang, West Sumatra, Aug. 30 -- The Indonesian government is working to ensure that the planned Indonesian Hajj Village in Saudi Arabia can begin partial operations by the 2028 Hajj season, Deputy Head of the Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Haji), Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, said here on Saturday.
He noted that the initiative aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive for the project to be operational as soon as possible in order to improve services for Indonesian pilgrims.
According to Dahnil, President Prabowo has instructed that the Hajj Village should be able to accommodate up to 200,000 pilgrims, allowing them to be centralized in one location.
