Jakarta, Feb. 5 -- The Transportation Ministry strengthens airports' role as disaster response centers to accelerate the mobilization and distribution of logistics and humanitarian aid to support emergency response across affected areas.

"Air transportation is the backbone of victim evacuation, humanitarian aid distribution, personnel mobilization, and accelerating recovery in disaster-affected areas," said an official of the ministry, Achmad Setiyo Prabowo, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
