Jakarta, Feb. 3 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) is accelerating the construction of temporary housing and the implementation of Weather Modification Operations (OMC) as part of recovery and mitigation efforts following wet hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra.
Head of BNPB's Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said on Tuesday that speeding up the construction of temporary housing is a top priority to support affected communities entering the early recovery phase.
Of the 17,332 temporary housing units proposed, 5,039 units have been completed and are ready for occupancy, with full completion targeted before Ramadan 1447 Hijri, or mid-February.
