Jakarta, Aug. 8 -- Minister of Cooperatives, Budi Arie Setiadi, has said that the government is focusing on operationalizing Red and White Village/Sub-District Cooperatives (KDMP) across regions.

The push follows the launch of 80,081 legally recognized cooperatives in Klaten, Central Java, on July 21, 2025.

"The second phase currently underway is the operation of these cooperatives to provide direct benefits to the community," he informed in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday.

The minister emphasized that the primary function of the cooperatives is to keep inflation in check, while fulfilling the Constitutional mandate.
