Jakarta, Feb. 22 -- Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian has emphasized the continued push to accelerate infrastructure development and the construction of permanent housing for residents affected by floods and landslides in Pidie Jaya District, Aceh.

He noted in a statement on Sunday that accelerating the construction of permanent housing is vital so that residents whose homes were heavily damaged or lost can have certainty regarding where they will live.

Karnavian-who also serves as Chair of the Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force-explained that the construction process relies on the local governments, particularly in ensuring the validity of recipient data.
