Tangerang, Banten, Dec. 7 -- The Indonesian government is seeking to accelerate the disbursement of its subsidized microcredit scheme, People's Business Credit (KUR), for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by recent floods and landslides in Sumatra.

"Tomorrow, Monday (Dec. 8), we will begin meetings with KUR-lending banks to ensure that financing can be disbursed immediately," MSMEs Minister Maman Abdurrahman told reporters in Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday.

He added that the initial stage of the economic recovery process involves mapping the condition of MSMEs impacted by the disasters across three provinces in Sumatra: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
