Jakarta, March 4 -- The government is currently identifying the main needs of residents as part of flood-handling measures in Greater Jakarta.

They range from rescue and evacuation, fulfillment of basic needs, such as food and health services, to restoring infrastructure and rehabilitating the area.

"First, saving affected communities through evacuation and preparing refugee camps. Second, by fulfilling basic needs, especially food and other crucial staples during Ramadan," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno, said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The third priority is restoring settlements and infrastructure, including roads, bridges, schools, places of worship, and other public facilities, he added.
