Indonesia, July 21 -- The Forestry Ministry is currently prioritizing mangrove rehabilitation in Southwest Papua province under the nationwide Forests Program VI, particularly the sustainable management, conservation, and utilization of the vital habitats.

Director of mangrove rehabilitation at the ministry, Ristianto Pribadi, said here on Monday that the program is a part of collaboration between the Indonesian and German governments in responsible forest management and protection.

"Our main focus in Forests Program VI is mangrove rehabilitation," he added.

He said that the rehabilitation program is centered on preserving, enhancing, and restoring mangrove habitats. "It is not just about planting, but also maintaining," he added.
