Jakarta, June 30 -- Trade Minister Budi Santoso has announced nine new ministerial regulations on trade ( Permendag ) as a direct outcome of the government's push to deregulate the import policy.

"The output of this import policy deregulation is the revocation and replacement of Permendag No. 36 of 2023, in conjunction with Permendag No. 8 of 2024. We have revoked both and are now issuing nine new Permendag ," he said in Jakarta on Monday.

He clarified that the new regulations have been categorized into clusters to ease future adjustments if necessary.

"Trade regulations are dynamic, and the government must be responsive to change," he said.
