Jakarta, Aug. 8 -- The Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections held a social service event here on Friday to foster solidarity ahead of the commemoration of Indonesia's 80th Independence Day.
Deputy Coordinating Minister Otto Hasibuan said that the Independence commemoration should not only be marked by ceremonies, but also real action such as social service.
"Eighty years of independence is a historic moment; it is not just about the number, but about the legacy of the nation," Hasibuan remarked, according to a written statement received from the ministry.
