Jakarta, Dec. 13 -- The National Food Agency (Bapanas) ensured that the stock of consumer sugar is safe and sufficient ahead of Christmas and New Year or year-end holidays, with a potential significant surplus in early 2026.

"The existing stock is sufficient to meet public demand until the end of the year and even has the potential to leave a significant surplus in early 2026," Director of Food Consumption Diversification at Bapanas Rinna Syawal said in a statement on Saturday.

She affirmed that the current national sugar availability is strong with a relatively stable price trend.
