Jakarta, Dec. 13 -- State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said stocks of basic necessities, including food and medicine, remain sufficient in flood- and landslide-affected areas of North Sumatra and Aceh.

He made the statement after President Prabowo Subianto concluded a two-day visit to Aceh and North Sumatra aimed at ensuring rapid assistance for residents affected by the disasters.

"Our stocks are sufficient. Food needs are being met. We are also continuing to ensure the availability of clothing and medicines," Hadi said at Soewondo Air Force Base in Medan, North Sumatra, on Saturday.

He said that while some obstacles remain, most of the affected areas are now accessible.
