Indonesia, Oct. 15 -- The Ministry of National Development Planning is formulating a comprehensive manpower roadmap to address the potential rise in unemployment triggered by the energy transition, particularly in regions reliant on fossil fuel production.

"When we talk about manpower, we must take a holistic view. The principle is: jobs may disappear, but the people who hold them should not," said the ministry's Director of Manpower, Nur Hygiawati Rahayu, on Wednesday.

To that end, she stressed the importance of preparing the current workforce through reskilling initiatives.
