Jakarta, March 8 -- Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman called for sealing three Minyakita companies after discovering that their products at the Lenteng Agung Market failed to meet the quantity standard.

"The volume is not in line. It should be one liter, but it is only 750 to 800 milliliters. This is a form of cheating that harms the people, especially during the month of Ramadan, when the demand for staple foods increases," he remarked during an inspection at the Lenteng Agung Market here on Saturday.

Apart from the issue with the volume, the selling price also exceeded the highest retail price (HET) set by the government. The packaging indicated a price of Rp15,700 per liter, yet the oil was sold for Rp18 thousand per liter.
