Jakarta, Feb. 19 -- The Indonesian government is continuing to talk to US technology giant Apple, asking it to comply with the domestic component level (TKDN) requirement to market the iPhone 16 in the country.

According to Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, the ministry's technical team has intensified discussions with Apple representatives - it held three meetings in the last one week-regarding the extension of the TKDN certification for the iPhone 16.

Intensive negotiations with Apple are needed to make sure that Indonesia gets the benefits it deserves from the sale of Apple products in the domestic market.
