Jakarta, March 13 -- Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, wants Jakarta to become a city that is friendly not only to humans but also animals, particularly cats.

"I personally wish for Jakarta to truly become a city that is friendly to animals. There are many cats that are treated badly," he said at the Jakarta City Hall here on Thursday.

He informed that the Jakarta provincial government will push for the establishment of health centers for animals.

One such animal health center located in Ragunan will be rejuvenated or upgraded. He expressed the hope that by the end of his term, each city and district in Jakarta will have a special health center for animals.
