Jakarta, July 30 -- Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan confirmed that all regional government units have prepared evacuation measures in anticipation of a possible tsunami following the earthquake off Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula.

"Regional governments, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), the military and police, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) have established emergency response posts," he remarked here on Wednesday.

The agencies have also deployed personnel on the ground to support and conduct evacuations, he stated.
